Welcome to Untold Black Christian Stories

There are stories we know, and there are stories we were never told. For generations, Black men and women have carried a deep faith in God that sustained them through slavery, segregation, injustice, poverty, rejection, and seemingly impossible circumstances.

Some of their names became famous, but the faith behind their lives was often left out of the story. Untold Black Christian Stories was created to bring that part of our history into the light.

Through music, storytelling, historical research, images, and the written word, we explore the lives of Black Christians whose faith helped shape families, communities, churches, movements, and history itself. We want to know not only what they accomplished, but what they believed, how they prayed, where they found their courage, and how their faith helped them keep going.

From Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass to educators, ministers, musicians, writers, freedom fighters, artists, leaders, and ordinary believers whose names history may have forgotten, these are stories of faith, courage, perseverance, and triumph.   Untold Black Christian Stories is also home to original songs, meditations, prayers, and inspirational works that may not tell a historical story, but still carry the same spirit of faith, courage, hope, and spiritual growth.

Our Mission

Our mission is to uncover, preserve, and share the powerful stories of Black Christian faith that history too often overlooked — and to pass those stories on to generations yet to come.

It is our hope that, through these stories, we will rediscover the strength our ancestors found in the Bible, in prayer, and in putting their faith into action. Their faith was not simply something they professed; it was something they lived. It gave them courage to persevere, wisdom to find a way forward, and strength to overcome circumstances that often seemed impossible.

These stories are also a call to those of us who have drifted away from that spiritual foundation—to return to the Word, to prayer, and to an active faith in God. The same spiritual truths that strengthened our ancestors through the challenges of their time can strengthen, guide, and sustain us as we face the challenges of our own.

Through music and story, we invite you to discover not simply Black history, but the faith within our history.

Welcome to Untold Black Christian Stories — where the stories of our faith come alive.
